The SOS Global Challenge

The SOS Team, lead by Dawn Dines, are pleased to announce that the Challenge Event held at Topsham Rugby Club on 13th & 14th was a huge success.

Foam, Water, Inflatable's! Music! Friends! Prizes!! And FUN! FUN! FUN!

Over 40 teams from all over Devon took part in "It's a Knockout" and also had full benefit from service providers including SOS Global, The Terrence Higgins Trust, Brooke and The UK Safer Internet Centre.

Julie Girling MEP, The Lord and Lady Mayoress and local councillors attended showing their support for this community event.

Julie said, "The work that Dawn and the SOS Global Team do for young people across Exeter and the South West really is fantastic. Promoting positive and healthy lifestyles, SOS Global provide resources and information that can help young people to take control of their health, strengthen their outlook on life and become more responsible for themselves and the world around them. The recent Global Challenge day brought together hundreds of young people and was a really positive, fun day of which I enjoyed playing a part."

Dawn was extremely pleased with the overall support and was grateful for the volunteers and assistance from local businesses. She said, "It was all about getting young people to make the right choices. The It's a knockout was about community and team building, working together, and the service providers gave the young people information and assistance in staying healthy and safe – essentially making the right choices in life. This event brought whole communities together from all walks of life and I believe that we made a real difference."
